Synopsis
Jose is a reserve player in an amateur soccer club. His years as team captain have passed, but he continues to take his commitment to the team and his training very seriously.
He receives the news that a medical treatment he was undergoing was unsuccessful and realizes he has to make some important decisions. Jose doesn’t want to die without his wife Andrea seeing him score a goal. The next game is for the championship and Jose wants to make this match his farewell, but convincing the coach to put him on the field won’t be easy. So Jose and his friends come up with a plan to get one of the strikers out of the game and give Jose the chance to say farewell to soccer, to his wife and to his friends

The project
The Farewell is a story of friendship, commitment and devotion. Aimed at a commercial, main-stream audience, this is a film full of humor and tenderness in which the passion for soccer is what moves the characters to taken action in their lives. It is a film that captures the values of friendship and the importance of enjoying each and every moment of life.
